Canstruction 2023: An Evening with The Cleverlys Award Winners and Event Recap

Canstruction 2023: An Evening with The Cleverlys, presented by Foundation Bank, was held Thursday, September 28th at the Carl Perkins Civic Center in downtown Jackson. The 18th annual event featured structures built entirely out of canned food by 16 teams from around the city, a wonderful dinner sponsored by Hometowne Capital, an awards ceremony, and a live performance by The Cleverlys, sponsored by TVA and Toyota TN.

Canstruction festivities began Thursday, September 14th at the Kickoff Party, sponsored by Christian Brothers Automotive, at Baker Bros. BBQ. Teams and sponsors were invited to enjoy dinner, fellowship and live music together in anticipation of Canstruction.

Teams

The 16 participating teams gathered at the civic center Tuesday, September 26th for Buildout. This year included five first-year teams, and 11 returning teams. Gerdau is the only team that has participated in Canstruction for all 18 years the event has been held in Jackson.
