Stamp Out Hunger
Team up with the post office to Stamp Out Hunger. This is the nation’s largest single-day food drive. Residents are encouraged to leave a bag containing non-perishable foods in their mailbox or next to prior to the time of regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 11th. Jackson’s letter carriers will collect these food donations as they deliver the mail and take them to the RIFA Food Bank to be sorted, bagged and distributed to individuals and families in need.
Here’s how it works:
1. Gather non-perishable foods – ex. canned fruit, canned meat, canned vegetables, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal
2. Leave them at your mailbox
3. Carriers collect for RIFA
4. RIFA distributes to those in need
