Every day we are fighting back against the effects of hunger. These numbers are significant but there is more to do to end hunger in Jackson and the surrounding counties. Here is the impact that the community had through RIFA in 2023:
Meals distributed through RIFA ministries
Meals served in the
Soup Kitchen
Meals served through the Bus Stop Cafe
Meals provided to
senior citizens through Senior Staples
Meals distributed through Community Outreach
Meals provided through
Snack Backpack & School Food Pantries
Volunteers and community service workers are the lifeblood of RIFA! Without them, we can't operate. You can't bless others without also receiving a blessing yourself, so the volunteers get a great blessing by serving here. Most choose to come back again and again.
-Dan WardRIFA is a refuge for so many.
-Paul Reed, RIFA volunteerFinancial contributions are a necessary part of RIFA. They couldn’t do what they do if we don’t contribute financially. My heart is here at RIFA.
-Ann Edwards, RIFA donor and volunteerRIFA is part of the reason that my baby, Isaiah, is here because they fed me in the Soup Kitchen while I was pregnant and didn’t have food.
- Angela, Soup Kitchen patronI think volunteering has given me a sense of giving back to the community. When I was working at a regular job, I didn’t have time to volunteer, even though I wanted to. But once I retired I knew I had the time, I just had to find where I wanted to volunteer. Volunteering at RIFA gives me something to do to give back, keeps me busy, and I’ve really enjoyed it.
-Richard, RIFA volunteerSupporting RIFA and the Snack Backpack ministry allows the community to contribute to the kids on a daily basis—It is the community saying that we are investing in our kids.
