  1. What do you do?

    We are a nonprofit organization that provides food for our neighbors in need. Visit our Mission & History page to learn more about how we operate and why we fight hunger in our community.

  2. Where are you located?

    RIFA is located at 133 Airways Blvd in Jackson, Tennessee. Our ministries and offices are all housed under one roof, but may operate on different schedules. Visit our Locations & Hours page for more information.

  3. How do I help?

    Help is always needed! We couldn’t do the work we do without the support of your donations, volunteer hours, and prayers. You can donate money, food, items, or time.

  4. Please call us at 731.427.7963 or email Abby, our Community Outreach Coordinator, at aallen@rifajackson.org. If you come to RIFA for assistance, please bring the following items:
    - Photo ID’s for adults in the home
    - Social Security Cards for everyone in the home
    - Birth Certificates for children in the home
    - Proof of all household income
    - Lease or Proof of Residence

    You can also go to the Soup Kitchen to receive a free, hot meal–no questions asked.
    Soup Kitchen Service Times:

    Breakfast:
    - Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 9:00am
    - Saturday: 8:30am – 9:30am
    - Sunday: 11:30am – 12:30pm

    Lunch:
    - Monday – Friday: 11:30am – 1:00pm
    - Saturday: 11:30am – 12:30pm
    - Sunday: 2:00pm – 3:00pm

    Dinner:
    - Sunday, Monday, & Thursday: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
    - 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Tuesday of the month: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

  5. What donations does the Thrift Store accept?

    We accept items in good, working condition. Some items always needed include clothing, appliances, furniture, mattresses, linens, and household items. To learn more, visit the Donate Items page. Unfortunately, we are unable to to accept donations like baby cribs or high chairs, or very heavy items like large pianos or organs. If you have a question about whether or not we can accept your donation, please call our office at 731-427-7963.

  6. What kind of food do you need?

    Our different ministries use a variety of food! We utilize shelf-stable food as well as fresh produce, dairy, eggs, and meat every day. If you’d like to donate to the Soup Kitchen or Community Outreach ministries, keep an eye on our social media pages where we regularly post a shopping list of items needed. You can also shop our Amazon wishlists for these ministries at any time–items towards the top of the list are most needed at the time you’re shopping. We also need food for Snack Backpacks throughout the year. For more information about how to donate food or to access the Amazon wishlists, please visit the Donate Food page.

  7. Will you pay my bills?

    No, RIFA provides food and other basic necessities, but we are unable to help pay your bills. However, we may be able to refer you to another local agency. Please visit our Additional Resources page or contact Abby, our Community Outreach Coordinator, at aallen@rifajackson.org to learn more.
